Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are focused communities of AMA Academic Members who share common research interests and are dedicated to advancing their field of study. SIGs provide opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing and professional growth. You can view the full list of SIGs here.
While some AMA events are open to non-members, members enjoy significant discounts on event registration fees and exclusive access to certain events.
To renew your membership, simply log into your AMA account, navigate to the membership section, select the “Renew” button and follow the renewal prompts provided.
AMA membership is for 12 months and starts once it is paid for. If you are part of a group membership, your membership is activated once you use the provided group membership code.
Yes, you can renew early. Renewing before your expiration date will simply add 12 months to your current membership. You won’t lose any months; your new expiration date will be extended accordingly.
Once the payment has been processed, you are sent a receipt and a unique group code. The directions are to pass the code out to everyone in the group so they can individually create or renew their membership. Please click here for an example of the process each group member will complete.

Each group member’s expiration date depends on when they redeemed their membership using the group code. Renewal dates are based on individual redemption times.
