2023 AMA Winter Academic Conference

February 6, Virtual | February 10-12, Nashville

Thank you for a great conference!

Mark your calendar and plan to join us in St. Pete’s Beach, FL for the 2023 Winter Academic Conference, February 23-25, 2024.

Unlocking Our Potential

As marketers, we have only just begun to embrace our potential. Our conference theme casts a wide lens on the many ways we, as marketing academics, can unlock our collective potential to be more impactful, more inclusive, appreciate diversity in thoughts and ideas, conduct research with a broader societal focus and embrace innovative methodological approaches to research. As we continue to explore newer topics (e.g., social media) and tools (e.g., machine learning) to address emerging challenges, a lot of work remains across domains that can benefit from our attention.

The 2023 AMA Winter Conference Program and Proceedings:

Marketing During Times of Change

We live in times of extraordinary change, warranting firms, consumers and communities to not only adapt but also participate as change-makers. On a social front, there is an increase in activism to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in multiple sectors. On a technological front, advances in automation and artificial intelligence are transforming how firms innovate and engage consumers. On a public welfare front, the pandemic has exacerbated inequalities in income, education and health yet led to many innovative business solutions. And on a political front, polarization has increased the salience of consumers’ political identities and put firms’ political stances at the forefront.

The 2023 AMA Winter Academic Conference in Nashville, TN, will shed light on how firms, consumers, policymakers and other stakeholders interact, adapt and even thrive during these times of tremendous change.

Early Career Faculty Mentor/Mentee Sign Up

The 2023 Winter AMA Co-Chairs want to ensure that early career faculty are given the opportunity to seek mentorship in the field. This sign-up was for both mentors and mentees, and we asked that you fill it out by Wednesday, February 1st

After completing this form, mentees and mentors will receive an email from our Co-Chairs with their match. We invite mentors and mentees to arrive at the conference check-in by noon on Friday, February 10th, in the registration desk area. Coffee will be available for participants, and we encourage everyone to meet at one of the many seating areas in the conference venue to connect during that time. Mentors and mentees are also welcome to plan additional meetups during the conference.

The deadline for this was February 1st.

Women in Sales Pre-Conference
February 9-10 | Nashville, TN

The Women in Sales (WinS) Pre-conference is designed to both support current women sales scholars and to encourage the development of future women sales scholars by focusing on scholars teaching or researching in the sales area, or with a tangential interest (e.g., retailing, services, relationship marketing, or OFR). This pre-conference aims to advance sales scholarship, promote integration with related areas, and promote networks to facilitate this advancement. We also hope to encourage emerging women sales scholars.
The WinS pre-conference, from Thursday evening through Friday lunch targets women with an interest in teaching or researching in the sales area. We strongly encourage men in the sales area to join us for our Friday afternoon programming during the main AMA conference, as we explore how to support women academics in the sales area and bring additional attention to researching professional selling and sales management.
