It defines primary concepts, explains basic terminology, and explores two of the most popular methodologies–Waterfall and Agile–employed by successful project leaders and their organizations. It covers the five stages (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing) of a Waterfall project and shows how those stages interconnect to help complete projects. It provides a simple interpretation of a common Agile development cycle, identifying and explaining essential Agile concepts along the way. And it recognizes several professional certifications and accreditations that practitioners can obtain to help them better understand and apply established project management principles and improve project outcomes.
