Articles will focus on career/academic life and teaching/advising resources. For example, articles may:

Provide advice on teaching, mentoring, and advising:

  • Conversation starters: ways to integrate the latest AMA research into your teaching portfolio; summaries of AMA research at an undergraduate-appropriate level—materials that professors can link to or reproduce in lessons, supplementing info from textbooks
  • Teaching and advising resources: AMA collegiate chapter news, tips for advising, preparing students for today’s marketing careers, partnering with businesses for student projects, etc.

Provide career support:

  • Navigating the academic career/life
  • Finding research partners in academia or industry

Target readers are:

  • Early-career academics: new marketing professors (PhD completed in the past five years); also doctoral students in marketing
  • Teaching-focused academics: instructors at teaching-focused universities, as well as all marketing professors interested in refining their teaching

We are seeking article ideas as well as potential writers/contributors/interviewees. Please use our submission form to propose ideas in any of these categories. We will follow up with you for further detail as needed. 

Articles (typically 1000–1500 words) should include:

  • practical, easy-to-follow tips and instructions
  • minimal or no citations
  • lists and sidebars are encouraged
  • graphics are welcome—provide a sketch/mockup and our designer will create the graphics
