Competition Process
- Sign up when competition opens in the Fall.
- Note: This is a team competition, with teams of 3-5 students (undergraduate students).
- 50 team spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- You are allowed to register more than one team for the competition. However, initial team assignments will be limited to ensure broad chapter representation.
- First 30 unique teams to register will be guaranteed a spot.
- The remaining spots will be offered to additional teams that submitted more than one team, and assignments will be assigned in the order in which sign ups are received.
- Once teams and members are verified, participants will receive a confirmation email with further details.
- The competition will be a 2-hour virtual session where your team works together to design a social media strategy for a real-world challenge.
- Competition will take place virtual via Zoom on: Friday, October 31, 2025
- Virtual/Remote Competition Time: 11:00am to 1:00pm CST (12pm to 2:00pm EST / 10:00am to12:00pm MST / 9:00am to 11:00am PST)
- Open to all AMA Collegiate Chapters in good standing
Entry Requirements

- Exclusively open to AMA undergraduate students
- Each AMA Collegiate team may register multiple teams, consisting of 3-5 students, to compete
- The Digital Marketing Competition brief and full instructions will be released at the start of the competition
- Entire chapter team must remain online for the entire 2-hour session
How is the Competition Judged?
Your team will be evaluated by volunteer judges using the evaluation criteria outlined below.
Relevance to Grandparent Persona – Up to 25 Points
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the needs, values, and behaviors of the grandparent demographic
- Reflects age-appropriate language, tone, and visual style
- Aligns with common motivations (e.g., family connection, legacy, health, nostalgia, simplicity)
Creativity & Concept Strength – Up to 25 Points
- Uses storytelling, humor, emotion, or surprise in compelling ways
- Incorporates unexpected but relevant themes or formats
- Clearly articulates the core concept and creative “hook”
- Shows originality while maintaining relevance to the target audience
Strategic Clarity & Feasibility – Up to 20 Points
- Provides a clear rationale that connects the concept to marketing or campaign goals
- Demonstrates understanding of brand values and messaging consistency
- Identifies achievable outcomes with realistic implementation steps
- Considers budget, timeline, and resource constraints
Creative Mockups/Assets – Up to 30 Points (15 Points each asset)
- Visuals are polished, professional, and aligned with the concept and audience
- Assets clearly communicate the idea and are usable in real-world execution
- Variety and depth of mockups/assets provided (e.g., digital, print, experiential, etc.)
- Assets enhance storytelling and bring the concept to life effectively
Competition Prize
The competition winners will be announced in early November 2025. This competition will award one winner in each of the following placements:
- 1st Place – 1 (one) Complimentary Conference Registration to ICC 2026 and AMA Certificate
- 2nd Place – AMA Certificate
- 3rd Place – AMA Certificate
