Competition Objectives

Design and create at least two digital marketing outputs based on a digital marketing brief. Showcase your creativity, skills and ability to develop digital marketing outputs while employing differentiating factors and justifying your work.

Who are the Competition Sponsors?

What is this competition all about?

The Digital Marketing Competition is in its second year and is designed to challenge students to create effective digital marketing outputs. After sign-ups close, team leaders will be provided preliminary information about Minus33, the company on which the outputs will be based. The outputs will be based on a given digital marketing brief which will be provided at the start of this in-person competition at the ICC. Teams will be asked to create two digital marketing outputs (details to be provided in the digital marketing brief) within the time allotted.

Competition Process

  1. Sign up when enrollment opens on January 26, 2026.
    • Note: This is a team competition, with teams of 2-5 students.
    • Only 50 team spots available on a first-come, first-served basis, one team per chapter.
  2. Participants must be registered for the 2026 AMA International Collegiate Conference (ICC).
    • Note: Even if your chapter is still in the process of paying for ICC registration, you can sign up for the ICC competitions. All competition participants will be verified and confirmed before securing a competition spot.
  3. Once teams and members are verified, participants will receive a confirmation email with further details.
  4. At ICC, the competition will be a 2-hour session where your team works together to create two digital marketing outputs based on a digital marketing brief to be provided on site at the competition.
  5. Each competing student must provide and bring their own laptop, fully charged.
    • Note: Power strips or electrical outlets will not be available. It is the responsibility of the participating chapters and their members to ensure their team has the necessary technology powered up to compete.

Entry Requirements

  • Exclusively open to undergraduate students
  • Each AMA Collegiate Chapter may register only one team, consisting of 2-5 students, to compete
  • Students competing are required to be in-person at the AMA International Collegiate Conference (ICC)
  • Faculty advisors will not be allowed in the competition room

How is the Competition Judged?

Your team will be evaluated by a panel of session partners and volunteer judges using the evaluation criteria designated for the competition.

Competition Prize – In-Person

One chapter team will be awarded per placement:

  • 1st Place – $200 (One Team and Certificate)
  • 2nd Place $100 (One Team and Certificate)
  • 3rd Place $50 (One Team and Certificate)
