2027 AMA ICC Theme Competition winner, Negin Khalafi, shares the inspiration for the theme:
When our President, Kayla Wright, reached out to our team at California State University, Chico, I began brainstorming a theme for the 2027 AMA International Collegiate Conference. I wanted a concept that captured the power of connection and the necessity of making a lasting impact. That word was “Amplify.”
It goes without saying that a big part of why Amplify stuck with me is because of the rich musical culture in New Orleans. I am a huge music lover myself, so I knew it had to be something related.
For me, “Amplify” represents more than just volume; it is about elevation. In a world of digital noise, the challenge for future marketing leaders is learning how to amplify the right messages, values and voices. We wanted a theme that challenged collegiate members to consider how they can use their unique skills to amplify their personal brands and their chapters’ influence.
Winning this selection is an incredible honor for not only me, but CSU Chico AMA as a chapter. As the Vice President of Events, I have seen the passion our members pour into their professional development. I hope “Amplify” inspires every attendee at 2027 AMA ICC to find their voice and turn up the volume on their potential. I am thrilled to see how the global AMA community brings this theme to life!
Meet the 2027 International Collegiate Conference Theme Winner
Hello! My name is Negin Khalafi. I am a Business Administration student at California State University, Chico, specializing in Human Resources (expected Graduation: May 2027). I have been an active member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) since August 2025.
I am currently serving as the Vice President of Events for 2026-2027, where I lead marketing strategy projects and networking initiatives. My career aspirations are rooted in leadership and Community, aiming to bridge the gap between professional excellence and social engagement.
Some of my campus involvement includes serving as the VP of Events for AMA Chico, Secretary for the Association Women in Business Club, She Means Business Co-editor and Co-Founder (AWIB) and Sponsorship Director for the Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity.
