AMA Foundation Collegiate Scholarships FAQs

The American Marketing Association Foundation (AMAF) seeks to elevate marketing visionaries, empower future generations and inspire a more diverse industry. AMAF Collegiate Scholarships are for marketing students who are leaders on campus and in the classroom who will continue to impact the industry in the years to come. 

Here are some commonly asked questions about our collegiate scholarships.

Applications are available on our online scholarships application April through December. 

No. You must reapply to be considered for another scholarship. 

Yes!

No. All scholarship applications are final when submitted. 

Committees made up of various community individuals make recommendations for awarding based upon the specific purpose and criteria of each scholarship fund as established by its donor.

When you submit your application, you will receive a notification on your screen, and you will receive an email confirming that your application has been received.

All applicants will be notified by email after the selection committees meet, which may be any time between January and March.

Scholarships are paid directly to the college or institution you are attending in mid-June. We will ask for a W9 and Direct Deposit Form from your University. 

Volunteer scholarship selection committees review all applications and select recipients based on availability of funds and the competitiveness of the applicant pool. 

The scholarship can be used for any educational expenses related to your school’s cost of attendance, which may include tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, and other miscellaneous school expenses for the awarded academic year. 

Scholarship checks are sent directly to your school’s student accounts or financial aid office. If your scholarship check has not been issued to your school on your behalf by August 1, please contact the AMAF, as we may be missing documentation needed to process a payment.

Please be aware that if you change schools, your scholarship payment will be delayed approximately 30 business days; therefore, you must communicate the most recent and accurate information when submitting your acceptance form.

Yes. Thank you notes are highly encouraged as many selection committees enjoy reading of your gratitude. Unless your scholarship specifies the intended recipient of your thank you note, you may address your thank you note to “Scholarship Committee” and email it to amafoundation@ama.org
