CMO Survey

Introduction

Christine Moorman offers her twice yearly CMO survey; plus reports, blogs and interviews; for use in both classes and research

The CMO Survey

Founded in August 2008, The CMO Survey collects and disseminates the opinions of top marketing managers in order to predict the future of markets, track marketing excellence, and improve the value of marketing in firms and in society. I collect data from a panel of top marketers twice a year on a range of topics, including marketplace dynamics, firm growth strategies, marketing spending, social media, firm performance, marketing jobs, marketing analytics, marketing organization, and marketing leadership. I publish several reports from each survey that examine trends and that cut results by key firm and industry characteristics. I also blog regularly, offering research-based insights about the survey findings. For example, my recent blog Why Apple is a Great Marketer examines Apple’s award-winning marketing practices. Finally, I interview CMOs on topics of interest to the marketing field. These interviews are available in text, video, and audio formats. My goal is to share the collective wisdom of top marketers with the press, with the business community, and with marketing professors and students. I hope you find these materials useful in your classes and work.
