The Marketing Area at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business is sharing the Second Edition of the Marketing Careers Compass—a comprehensive resource of marketing careers capturing over 150+ marketing roles, organized into nine primary domains and two emerging areas. The second edition reflects over 10 months of in-depth research, synthesis of insights, and collaboration with industry experts.
Marketing is not a one-size-fits-all field. From data-driven marketing intelligence to creative design and storytelling, the opportunities within marketing are as varied as they are exciting. This guide is developed to support students in exploring career paths, inform industry experts seeking to stay ahead of emerging industry trends, and serve as a resource for marketing educators who advise students and design curricula.
The Compass dispels common misconceptions such as “marketing is just sales and advertising” or “one person can do it all,” highlighting the diverse and specialized roles and career paths.
