Perfect Pitch Round 1

Must be registered and confirmed prior to conference.

The 200+ individuals who signed up pre-conference will be competing in this fast-paced pitch competition. While not truly a sales-specific role-play, the AMA Perfect Pitch Competition is a 90 second interview in which you position yourself as being “right for the job.”

This is a skill that every marketing professional needs to develop. Like an elevator pitch competition, your goal is to provide 2-3 key selling points why you are an ideal candidate and then supporting these qualifications with examples. The end goal is to close the deal and get hired!

A Final Round will take place Thursday morning, with the winner and top-performing students announced at the Saturday Awards Banquet.

Experience Speaks Session 1: Creating Engaging Posts on LinkedIn

In Real-Time Only

It’s important to recognize LinkedIn as a valuable tool for your marketing career and building your own personal brand: a win-win for most marketing professionals. According to Hootsuite, 94% of B2B marketers use LinkedIn for content marketing, so it should be an essential skill in your marketing toolkit. If you are looking for job interview requests without applying or passive client acquisition, a content creation strategy on LinkedIn could be just what you are missing. In this session, you’ll learn how to create engaging LinkedIn posts that attract more views and impressions. This is great for business, but can also lead to personal benefits of increased profile views and recognition as a subject matter expert.

Session 4: Culture and Connection: The New Marketing Imperative

In Real-Time Only

2020 brought into focus the importance of culture and connection in marketing and communications. Can brands and organizations find ways to connect with stakeholders based on what’s true about their lived experience in moments that matter? That’s the sweet spot. “Content is king” and “the consumer is king” are popular phrases in marketing communications, but I predict connection and culture will be the new imperative for marketers. In this session, we’ll explore how to think about content, culture, connection and consumer insights as part of an integrated and intentional approach to marketing and communications efforts.
