Introduction of Collegiate Summit Clusters & Cluster Meeting #1

Attendees will break out into their Clusters and meet their Cluster Facilitators for the first time! An overview of the Collegiate Summit experience will be discussed, and attendees will participate in a goal-setting activity to prepare them for the weeks ahead.

In this interactive keynote, participants will join Christian Shaboo to explore the power of personal storytelling in shaping your career pursuits. During this Cluster meeting, participants will reflect on their college careers thus far and identify the experiences that have stood out the most to them. Beyond the CTA: Content Marketing Best Practices

Content marketing is ever-evolving and requires marketers to maintain constant vigilance on changing trends in order to maximize CRO (conversion rate optimization). Analyzing data-driven insights from external sources to guide content creation is a critical component of thinking beyond the call to action (CTA). This session will examine the importance of incorporating A/B testing into a content marketing strategy and examine how marketers can measure and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive impactful content development and augment CRO.

During the Asynchronous Engagement period, Collegiate Summit participants will be able to work independently on the projects that were introduced during the first weekend of the program while balancing their coursework, co-curricular involvements, and other commitments at their home institutions. Cluster Facilitators and AMA Support Staff will also be readily available during this time to assist with any questions that may come up in regard to Collegiate Summit.

What's New About TikTok? What's it Uniquely Good For?

There’s more to marketing than communication, but frankly not very much more. When the media of communication change, marketing strategy changes. The pace of change has been extraordinarily fast in the last few years. After the stable era of websites and email, we have had to reskill to market with texting like WhatsApp and Twitter, social media like Instagram, new search options besides Google, and now algorithmic media like TikTok. Before long, we will be communicating on Web3.

These new marketing media talk in many directions – marketers talk to consumers, consumers talk back, consumers talk to each other, and creators talk to anyone who’s prepared to listen. The idea that the brand controls the conversation is quaint today to everyone except those myopic marketers who think that what their ads and PR say is what the market hears.

The goal of this session is to discuss how to steer a path through the messaging mayhem. How does a message win attention? What comes after attention? How do influencers perform differently on TikTok? How does engagement convert to commerce?

2022 AMA Collegiate Summit FAQs

What is Collegiate Summit?

The 2022 Collegiate Summit provides students a unique opportunity to focus on their career development in the Marketing field. Participants will hear from industry professionals through keynote presentations, panels, breakout sessions, and facilitated small group discussions with their peers and Cluster Facilitators. Attendees will also have the opportunity to create a Marketing portfolio that will showcase their experiences inside and outside the classroom, which can be utilized during a job or internship search, as well as participate in a Social Impact Case Competition with members of their Clusters. Participants will leave Collegiate Summit with a better understanding of their future path and how to work toward the Marketer that they aspire to become.

When is Collegiate Summit?

September 30th – October 15th at varying times, which includes:

  • Concurrent Session #1: September 30th – October 1st
  • Asynchronous Session: October 2nd – October 13th
  • Concurrent Session #2: October 14th – 15th

Attendees should plan to participate in the entire program and not just one piece of the program. In order to achieve the free year of AMA membership, participants must complete the program.

All session times will be based on Central Time, so participants who are not located in the Central Time Zone should calculate what times sessions will occur in their respective areas based on Central Time.

Where is Collegiate Summit?

The 2022 Collegiate Summit is a virtual program and participants can join from anywhere!

How much does Collegiate Summit cost?

The 2022 Collegiate Summit is $30 and includes one free year of AMA Collegiate Membership upon completion of the program.

How do I redeem my one free year of AMA Collegiate Membership?

A post-event communication will be sent to attendees with their code to redeem their one free year of AMA Collegiate Membership after the Summit ends. Attendees will then be able to “purchase” a free year of membership on the AMA website by using their discount code. 

How many people can register for Collegiate Summit?

This event is limited to 150 participants and spaces will be reserved on a first-come, first served basis.

Who is allowed to participate in Collegiate Summit?

Collegiate Summit is open to all college students that are interested in pursuing a career in Marketing!
