Social selling—using the sales process to build online/offline relationships with potential customers—has become an essential tool in driving revenue growth according to a recent survey. By using social media, marketers are tracking trigger phrases and starting conversations with target audiences. Doing so allows companies to be in the right place at the right time when a sales opportunity comes up.

A new infographic from Sales for Life summarizes a study which reported that nearly 64% of surveyed social sellers saw an increase in sales revenues. The same study also shows that 91% of social sellers reported an expected increase in sales revenue in the coming 12 months.

The survey also reports that while social selling is to increase in 2016, a staggering 72% of sales professionals consider themselves less than proficient social sellers. Managers and marketers must increase social selling skills in order to compete with the 75% of companies who plan to use social selling over the next year.
