The proliferation of technologically sophisticated applications that gather and use consumer data presents new privacy risks for consumers in both online and offline consumption contexts. The July 2025 issue of JACR seeks to identify and address current technological developments in data collection, and to answer related questions about privacy, ownership, control and regulation of consumer data, and the potential roles of marketing.
