T&F/SMA 2021 Distinguished Scholar

The Society for Marketing Advances and Routledge/Taylor & Francis Publishing are delighted to announce that Professor Lisa K. Scheer of the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business at the University of Missouri – Columbia has been named the T&F/SMA Distinguished Scholar for 2021. Professor Scheer serves as the Emma S. Hibbs Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Program Coordinator and has contributed substantially over many years to the literature on marketing strategy and marketing relationships through research that is consistently both academically rigorous and managerially relevant, published across the top journals in our field. In addition, throughout her career she has made a significant impact on a large number of doctoral students and newer faculty through her mentorship and co-authorships. Professor Scheer’s research has received the AMA Louis W. Stern Research Award and the European Marketing Academy’s Jan-Benedict Steenkamp Award for long-term impact. She is a Fellow of Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM) and received the AMA’s Interorganizational SIG Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to research and doctoral education.  The SMA is indeed excited and proud that Professor Scheer is this year’s Distinguished Scholar, a designation that was begun annually in 2000 with the initial naming of Professor Philip Kotler to the award.

This year’s SMA Annual Conference is scheduled to be held in person at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Hotel November 3-6, 2021.  Professor Scheer will present a plenary session at the conference and will also engage with the doctoral students at the annual pre-conference SMA Doctoral Consortium.
