Martin Schreier Named Editor-in-Chief Elect of IJRM

We are delighted to announce that Professor Martin Schreier has been named Editor-in-Chief Elect of the International Journal of Research in Marketing (IJRM), for a three-year term to replace PK Kannan, whose term ends in Summer 2021.  IJRM is the flagship journal of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC), is widely considered the top non-US-based marketing journal, and is rated as a top-tier journal in most countries.  IJRM has more than doubled its impact factor in recent years, and is currently enjoying a record number of new submissions.

Professor Schreier is Professor of Marketing at WU Vienna, where he heads the Department of Marketing and the Institute of Marketing Management.  His interests involve product and brand management, creativity and new product development, and consumer behavior.  Martin has published extensively in such journals as Management Science, IJRM, JMR, and the Journal of Marketing. He has also published multiple papers in the Harvard Business Review.  He has an award-winning record of editorial experience, including IJRM’s Outstanding Senior Editor award, and two outstanding reviewer awards from the Journal of Marketing, for which he currently serves as Associate Editor. His 2015 Journal of Marketing paper, “The Handmade Effect: What’s Love Got To Do with It?” was a Finalist for the Sheth Foundation/Journal of Marketing Award for long-term impact, and his 2012 publication, “The Value of Crowdsourcing: Can Users Really Compete with Professionals in Generating New Product Ideas?” won the Thomas P. Hustad Best Paper Award from the Journal of Product Innovation Management.

Professors Schreier and Kannan will be working together to coordinate the editorial transition.  We thank PK for the excellent job he has done as Editor for the last 3 years.  We believe that Professor Schreier has a demonstrated commitment to high quality, high impact research that will move the field forward in a broad and globally-inclusive manner.  We are pleased to welcome him as IJRM’s next Editor-in-Chief.
