The American Marketing Association’s (AMA) Sales Special Interest Group is delighted to announce the following awards:

2020 Lifetime Achievement Award: Dr. Sönke Albers (Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg, Germany.

2020 Don McBane Special Recognition Award: Dr. Murali Mantrala (Professor Emeritus, University of Missouri & Dean’s Professor of Marketing, University of Kansas)

2020 Sales SIG Excellence in Research Award: Drs. Jeffrey Boichuk (University of Virginia), Raghu Bommaraju (Indian School of Business), Michael Ahearne (University of Houston), Florian Kraus (University of Mannheim) and Thomas Steenburgh (University of Virginia) for their article “Managing Laggards: The Importance of a Deep Sales Bench,” Journal of Marketing Research 56, no. 4 (2019): 652-665.

2020 Sales SIG Excellence in Teaching Award: Gregory Rich (Bowling Green State University)

2020 Sales SIG Doctoral Dissertation Award:

Winner: Valerie Good (PhD, Michigan State University) “Motivating Salespeople Toward Greater Productivity”

Runner-up: Dayle Childs (PhD, Loughborough University) “A Within-Person Analysis of Sales Self-Efficacy: Antecedents and Consequences of Self-Efficacy Change”
