JAMS Coronavirus Update

Introduction

A message to the community from the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science

POSTING TYPE: JOURNAL NEWS

Author: John Hulland and Mark Houston

Dear JAMS Community:

The onset of the Coronavirus pandemic is having an impact on all of our lives, both professional and personal. The demands that we now face are substantial. Most of us are having to change the ways in which we interact with others, including offering online versions of our courses, working at home with active children present, and dealing with a variety of purchasing and travel restrictions.

At times like these, it is very important for all of us to work together to ensure the safety of those around us, to show compassion to those less fortunate, and to work together as a community. The JAMS community (staff, associate editors, editorial review board members, ad hoc reviewers, and authors) is comprised of many highly engaged individuals, and we appreciate everyone’s contribution to its success.

What is most important at this stage is the safety and health of our community. The two of us are committed to continuing the journal’s recent successes, and we have a strong line-up of articles ready to appear in print. Thus, we are able to adapt to your needs. If you need more time to complete a review (either already assigned or a new invitation), please let us know and we will be happy to provide an extension. Similarly, we are completely willing to extend revision deadlines.

During the weeks and months ahead, please take care of yourselves, your families, and your friends.

Most sincerely,

John & Mark
