S. Tamer Cavusgil Award
The 2017 S. Tamer Cavusgil Award was award to Martin Eisend, Patrick Hartmann and Vanessa Apaolaza for their article, Who Buys Counterfeit Luxury Brands? A Meta-Analytic Synthesis of Consumers in Developing and Developed Markets,” which was published in the December 2017 (Vol. 25, No. 4) issue of JIM. In their article, Eisend, Hartmann, and Apaolaza’s meta-analysis investigates consumer demographics and psychographics as determinants of counterfeit purchases. The authors create a profile of consumers of counterfeit luxury items that provides guidance for future research and for improved consumer targeting with regard to international anticounterfeiting measures.
