THE 2017 INTERNATIONAL PH.D. SUMMER SCHOOL ON DIVERSITY
Israel, June 25 – July 4, 2017
THE DEADLINE FOR THE REGISTRATION IS APPROACHING – THURSDAY, APRIL 6, 2017!
We are pleased to announce the 5th annual exciting International Doctoral Summer School between June 25 – July 4th, 2017.
The class will be led by ADAM GALINSKY and YAACOV TROPE!
It is open to both post-docs and PhD students. It will offer a week-long intensive workshop on concepts and methods of research on diversity. Also connected to the workshop is the International Diversity conference, which will take place on July 2-3, 2017 and will feature renowned speakers from across the disciplines of Management, Psychology, Marketing and Sociology.
The workshop will consist of two sessions each day, a morning session and an afternoon session, each session structured around seminars and exercises. There will be ample time for informal interaction between the participants as well as facilities and organized extracurricular activities to facilitate such interaction. Students will be sent a reading list in advance and will be required to read it before the seminar starts.
The workshop will end with students’ presentations of a program of research designed to test their ideas.
The school will be open for post-docs and PhD students in behavioral science.
Since this is a small and intensive workshop, we limit the registration only for 15 students selected on the basis of their qualifications and background.
AIM
The mission of the summer school is to provide high-quality training for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students in selected areas of the behavioral sciences interested in diversity. The participants will prepare in small teams a research proposal to be presented on the last day. We will explore theory and research on diversity, with a focus on the social context, the underlying mental processes, and their consequences for individuals, groups, and society.
