Conference Details

The conference will kick off with a reception on Thursday evening.

Also on Thursday, a pre-conference Doctoral Consortium will be held co-chaired by Kelly Goldsmith (Kellogg School of Management) and Cassie Mogilner (UCLA). The schedule is jam-packed with panels of inspiring scholars who will provide advice for how to succeed in your PhD program, and of top journal Editors who will offer guidance for how to successfully publish. There will also be opportunities to break into smaller groups with faculty both at an off-site lunch and during two roundtable sessions to give students a chance to get feedback on their research ideas and to connect with leaders in the field. There will be a reception from 5:00pm-6:00pm. Note, only current PhD students can register and space is limited, so register soon. You can choose to register for the doctoral consortium when you register for the conference online.

In addition to symposia, competitive paper sessions, and working paper sessions we will have some spotlight sessions where we will hear about top research topics from leaders in the field. Finally, we are trying something different with our plenary address and we will have a session with points of view from three key note speakers: Dan Ariely (Duke University), Darren Dahl (University of British Columbia), and Barbara Kahn (University of Pennsylvania)!

Finally, SCP 2017 will feature an epic finale at San Francisco’s Verso Lounge. Club, pub, and general open bar fun! Space for dancing, sitting, as well spaces for (relatively) more quiet conversations. A range of tapas-style refreshments will be served.

The preliminary program will be up soon.

See you in San Francisco!
