2017 Food Marketing Doctoral Dissertation Competition
The Institute of Food Products Marketing is pleased to announce the 2017 Food Marketing Doctoral Dissertation Competition. The award recognizes and honors the best dissertation in the field of food marketing research.
International food marketing doctoral candidates who have successfully defended their dissertation during the period of May 1, 2016 through April 31, 2017 are eligible to compete for the award.
This award is co-sponsored by the Institute of Food Products Marketing and Taylor and Francis Group LLC. The winner will receive $500 plus free registration to a meeting of the Institute’s International Food Marketing Research Symposium.
Following the mission of the Institute of Food Products Marketing, the purpose of this award is garner greater doctoral interest and work in the area of food marketing research.
To be considered, please submit an electronic version of a dissertation abstract that is no longer than 15 double-spaced pages (including any appendices, tables, figures, and references). All submissions should include a separate cover page listing name, current affiliation, contact information, dissertation committee, and degree granting institution. Do not include identifying information in the submission itself, as these will undergo a blind review.

Submit an electronic copy of the paper to mlang@sju.edu no later than April 1, 2017.
Submissions will be judged against the following criteria:
- Appropriate motivation and theoretical support for the topic and research question(s).
- The soundness and completeness of the methodology employed.
- Theoretical and managerial implications and contributions to the field of food marketing.

The Institute of Food Products Marketing hosts a Food Marketing research symposium in various locations around the world to provide a dedicated, regular forum where academic food marketers can meet to present their research in various stages of development to advance the academic discipline of food marketing. The research symposium welcomes multidisciplinary research from quantitative and qualitative methodologies, marketing and management perspectives, and the study of the entire food marketing process.
