Responsible Marketing

Socially responsible marketing is critical of excessive consumerism and environmental damages caused by corporations. It is based on the idea that market offerings must not be only profit-driven, but they must also reinforce social and ethical values for the benefit of citizens.

Socially responsible marketing emerged as a response to questionable marketing practices that have adverse effects on society. The Consumer Goods Forum in adopting three resolutions intended to provide consumers with choices and information that empower them to make decisions to support a healthy life. Members resolved to:

  • Provide consumers with choices and information that empower them to make decisions for a healthy life.
  • Encourage a culture of prevention by promoting active, healthy living for all and by engaging with other stakeholders to accelerate and increase the impact of such efforts.
  • Monitor and learn from efforts and report on progress.

The conference invites researchers and practitioners to share their understanding on Responsible Marketing and provide a forum where researchers and practitioners engage in robust discussion on ideas, new directions and create innovative practices that impact responsible marketing.
