AMA Foundation encourages applications for its Valuing Diversity PhD Scholarships and Awards; Deadline 2 May 2016
Valuing Diversity Ph. D. Scholars
The American Marketing Association Foundation (AMAF) is now accepting applications for its Valuing Diversity PH.D. Scholarship Program, an initiative established in 2003 that focuses on creating scholarship funds for populations underrepresented in the marketing profession. Through this scholarship fund, the AMAF seeks to widen the opportunities for underrepresented populations to attend marketing doctoral programs. For the upcoming academic year, several $1,000 scholarships will be granted to students currently enrolled in Ph.D. programs. Valuing Diversity New Faculty Research Grant
The purpose of the Valuing Diversity New Faculty Research Grant is to assist newly minted PhD Project alumni faculty with the first two years of their academic career. Through a partnership between the AMA Foundation, the PhD Project, and the Sheth Foundation, a grant has been established to support underrepresented minority faculty during this challenging period. Award winners will be recognized and presented with an award certificate at the PhD Project Dinner (August 2016) at the Marketing Doctoral Students Association Annual Conference, in addition to being recognized at the 2016 AMA Summer Educators’ Conference in Atlanta. A minimum of two grants of $3,000 each will be awarded to two recipients to support their research beginning in Summer 2016. Williams-Qualls-Spratlen (WQS) Award
Multicultural Mentoring Award of Excellence:
The American Marketing Association Foundation (AMAF) is now accepting nominations for its annual WQS Award, which recognizes outstanding mentors of people of color in the academic marketing community. Individuals receiving this award will have demonstrated exceptional ability in guiding the academic and/or professional growth of his/her students and junior colleagues in marketing. Award recipients will also have had a sustained career commitment to mentoring as well as a significant positive impact on their mentees’ careers. Moreover, through their mentees, they will have advanced research and education on issues where racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity intersect with the discipline and practice of marketing.
