About the Conference

The TX Ph.D. Research Conference at The University of Texas at Arlington is a one day research event for doctoral students in Texas with opportunities for networking and relationship building. The conference offers an interactive and informal forum for doctoral students to discuss their research and career aspirations. It is a great opportunity for doctoral students to know their peers and faculty from other Texas institutions and develop professional relationships with them. The first half of day will have talks by invited faculty and journal editors. The second half of the day will be a TX Ph.D. Research Conference for which we invite PhD students to submit their papers for consideration.

We invite submissions from doctoral students within three tracks: marketing strategy, consumer behavior and services/sales marketing. It is required that at least one of the authors be from a Texas based school. All submissions will be evaluated through a double blind review process and 8-12 papers from all three tracks will be selected for manuscript presentations. The selected manuscripts will also receive consideration for publication in The Journal of Managerial Issues. A $1000 cash reward will be given to the best conference paper. No registration fee is needed.

The submission deadline is January 5, 2016.

Submission Guidelines

    Extended abstracts of no more than 5000 words, excluding references and tables (Microsoft Word document)

    Double-spaced with one inch margins in 12-point font

    The extended abstracts should adhere to all the manuscript submission guidelines of the Journal of Marketing

Decision: January 28, 2016
Conference: March 12, 2016

About Speakers

Apart from invited faculty, there will be four distinguished talks by four journal editors on this day – Prof Brian Ratchford (Journal of Interactive Marketing), Prof Steve Brown (Journal of Retailing), Prof Mary-Jo Bitner (Journal of Services Research) and Prof Eric Harris (Journal of Managerial Issues).
