Special issue: The History of Australian Marketing: Local and Global Perspectives

The Journal of Historical Research in Marketing invites submissions for a special issue focused on the history of Australian marketing. For this special issue of JHRM we particularly welcome manuscripts that address topics focused on Australia and Australians with an historical perspective.

Specific topics might include but are not limited to:

  • Advertising history in Australia
  • Australia and the British Empire
  • Australian marketing biographies
  • Australian marketing history
  • Consumers / consumerism in Australia
  • Government regulation (State and Commonwealth)
  • The impact of economic and business history on Australian marketing
  • Indigenous Australians and marketing
  • Marketing and the Australian household
  • Marketing and the Australian media
  • Marketing and multiculturalism in Australia
  • Marketing and / of regions within Australia
  • Public relations history in Australia
  • Retailing history in Australia
  • State and industry marketing boards

Prior to submission to the Journal, authors may wish to submit either a full paper or abstract to the 2015 Conference on Historical Analysis & Research in Marketing (CHARM) being held in Long Beach, California from May 28 through May 31, 2015. One or more panel sessions at the CHARM conference will provide feedback with a view to preparing submissions for this special issue of JHRM. The deadline for CHARM submissions is December 14, 2014.
