2015 Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition in Behavioral Pricing

OVERVIEW

The Fordham University Pricing Center will be sponsoring a doctoral dissertation competition for dissertation proposals dealing with the behavioral aspects of pricing. Candidates must be doctoral students in marketing, and the focus of their dissertation should relate to how buyers perceive, process and act on pricing information. While the following is a list of potential topics of interest, other related areas of research in pricing are also eligible:

  • Fairness in pricing

  • Promotional pricing

COMPETITION PROCESS

Candidates must submit a summary of their dissertation proposal by April 30, 2015. Submissions should not exceed 25 double-spaced pages, including references, graphs, and tables. The first page of the submission should include the name and contact information of the candidate as well as that of the candidate’s dissertation advisor. The second page should provide an abstract of the dissertation. The text should clearly communicate the theoretical foundation, hypotheses, and methodological approach of the proposed research. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of experts through a double-blind review process.

AWARD

The top dissertation will be awarded $500. The winner will be notified by June 30th (please consult
