Kahle Captures CBSIG Award

Introduction

Lynn R. Kahle is this year's recipient of the AMA CBSIG Lifetime Achievement Award

The American Marketing Association Consumer Behavior Special Interest Group (AMA CBSIG) is pleased to announce that this year’s recipient of the AMA CBSIG Lifetime Achievement Award is Dr. Lynn R. Kahle, Ehrman Guistina Professor and Head of the Department of Marketing at the University of Oregon.

Dr. Kahle is currently president of the American Marketing Association Consumer Behavior Special Interest Group (AMA CBSIG), previously serving as President of Sports and Special Events SIG. He has served as president of the Society for Consumer Psychology, which he now represents on the APA Council of Representatives, and as editor of Sport Marketing Quarterly. He was also the Founding Director of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center at the University of Oregon. Dr. Kahle has served as associate editor or editorial board member of seven journals, including the Journal of Consumer Psychology. During the past two decades, Dr. Kahle authored numerous articles and two edited books in sport marketing. He was the recipient of the 2011 Sports Marketing Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Kahle’s research on topics such as values and lifestyle marketing has been widely published and cited in such disciplinary and interdisciplinary journals as the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Business Research, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Advertising Research, Sport Marketing Quarterly, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Public Opinion Quarterly. His most recent books include Communicating Sustainability for the Green Economy (2014, with Eda Gurel-Atay), Belief Systems, Religion, and Behavioral Economics: Marketing in Multicultural Environments (2013, with Elizabeth Minton), Marketplace Lifestyles in an Age of Social Media: Theory and Method (2012, with Pierre Valette-Florence), and Consumer Behavior Knowledge for Effective Sports and Event Marketing (2011, with Angeline Close). He was recently honored as the 2014 Thomas C. Stewart Distinguished Professor, which is awarded to an outstanding faculty member that advances the reputation of the Lindquist College of Business at the University of Oregon and the business community.
