William L. Wilkie has won the 2014 Richard W. Pollay Prize honoring Intellectual Excellence in Research on Marketing in the Public Interest
The UBC Sauder School of Business is pleased to announce that Professor William L. Wilkie is the 2014 winner of the Richard W. Pollay Prize, honouring Intellectual Excellence in Research on Marketing in the Public Interest.
William L. Wilkie is the Nathe Professor of Marketing at the University of Notre Dame. His research centers on marketing in society and consumer behavior. In 2012, the American Marketing Association recognized him by inaugurating a “William L. Wilkie ‘Marketing for a Better World’ Award” to be presented annually to leading marketing thinkers. Prof. Wilkie has also received the American Marketing Association’s highest recognition, the Distinguished Marketing Educator Award, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award from the AMA’s Marketing and Society Special Interest Group, the special President’s Award from the University of Notre Dame, and the BP/Amoco Outstanding Teacher Award, voted by Notre Dame’s graduating senior class.
An undergraduate at Notre Dame, his graduate degrees are from Stanford University. Prior to joining Notre Dame, Prof. Wilkie served on the faculties at Purdue, Harvard, and Florida. He has also been an in-house consultant at the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection and a Visiting Research Professor at the Marketing Science Institute, Cambridge, MA.
