Call for papers for the 9th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship – ECIE 2014 being held at the University of Ulster Belfast, UK on the 18-19 September 2014.
This call will close on 27 February 2014.
The theme of the Conference for ECIE 2014 is "Societal-driven innovation and entrepreneurship". To set the scene, the conference will be opened with a keynote presentation by Roberto Santoro (Italy) President of the European Society of Concurrent Engineering Network (ESoCE Net) who will address the topic “PEOPLE OLYMPICS FOR HEALTHY and ACTIVE LIVING”: A People Driven Social Innovation Platform.
We can also now confirm a second keynote speaker: Micheal Pyner, Social Entrepreneur and Creative Advisor, Michael will address the topic: "Innovating for Community Good"
In addition to the main conference topics, we also invite submissions to the following mini tracks:
· Learning by Doing: Entrepreneurship Education in Action – co-chaired by Doan Winkel and Dr Alexandros Kakouris.
· Internationalization, entrepreneurship and innovation: Challenges in 21st century chaired by Dr Luisa Carvalho
· Collaboration in Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice co-chaired by Dr Christos Apostolakis and Dr Fernando Romero
· Innovation and Strategy: Facilitating innovation co-chaired by Claire Auplat and Sonia Ben Slimane
We warmly invite practitioners, academics, and people in the field of policy making to present their research and to share their experiences in a broad range of areas related to the new trends in innovation and entrepreneurship. Topics can be related to all types of organizations (SMEs – YICs – spin-offs – MNEs – private and public research centres – Universities – Government Institutions).

Academic research, case studies and work-in-progress/posters are welcomed approaches. PhD Research, proposals for roundtable discussions, non-academic contributions and product demonstrations based on the main themes are also invited. Please feel free to circulate this message to any colleagues or contacts you think may be interested.
There are a number of publication opportunities available. For example: Papers accepted for the conference will be published in the conference proceedings (indexed in the WOS and by Scopus), subject to author registration and payment. Selected papers that have been presented at the conference will also be considered for a special issue of the International Journal of Innovation and Regional Development and the International Journal of Technology Marketing, journals published by Inderscience. In addition selected papers will also be considered for a special issue of the Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation (JEMI).
