Abstract accepted till February 10, 2014
The INFORMS Marketing Science Conference is an annual event bringing together leading marketing scholars and practitioners with a shared interest in rigorous, science-based research on marketing problems. The conference falls under the auspices of the INFORMS Society for Marketing Science (ISMS) sub-branch.
The Marketing faculty at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School invites you to submit abstracts of your research papers, present your work, and actively participate in the conference. The conference is an important forum to present cutting-edge research and intellectual exchange.
The conference begins at 8 am on Thursday, June 12, 2014, and concludes late afternoon on Saturday, June 14, 2012 at the Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, USA. Parallel sessions are during the day. The evenings will consist of a welcome reception on Thursday in the Goizueta Business School courtyard, and a Gala Dinner on Friday at the Georgia Aquarium (located 5.5 miles from the Emory Campus in the Centennial Olympic Park tourist district of Atlanta). The conference will also provide you with the opportunity to visit Atlanta, where fine dining, shopping and rich history combine with unique attractions to create a city with southern charm and world-class sophistication.
We welcome submissions on a broad range of marketing science topics, including, but not limited to, digital marketing, marketing strategy, marketing models, methods, and theory, as well as empirical research. We also encourage submissions from behavioral researchers.
Submissions are accepted in one of three categories:
- [1] Abstract-only;
[2] Abstract plus Working Paper;
[3] Special Session.
Regardless of the category of submission, an author may be the primary presenter for only a single paper during the entire conference.
Abstract-only Submissions
Abstracts should not exceed 1800 characters (about 250 words) and should clearly define a marketing topic and the contribution of the research.
‘Abstract-only’ submissions are accepted until Monday, February 10, 2014 through a link on the conference website (see title above).
Presenting authors will be notified by Monday, February 27, 2014.
All presenting authors (of an accepted abstract) must register for the conference no later than Tuesday, March 4, 2014.
Abstract plus Working Paper Submissions
This is a new category for 2014. In addition to the Abstract (see above), authors also upload a Working Paper. Working Papers will be available to conference attendees through the online schedule when it is published. You may update the Working Paper at any time prior to the conference so that readers have the most current version.
Presentations scheduled as ‘Abstract plus Working Paper’ will be given a 40 minute presentation slot (i.e., twice the length of a typical presentation slot) to allow ample time for detailed questions and comments.
Capacity limitations limit the number of ‘Abstract plus Working Paper’ presentation slots. Slots will be allocated based on when the submission is received on a first-come first-served basis. Those who do not receive a slot will be re-classified as Abstract-only.
‘Abstract plus Working Paper’ submissions are accepted until Monday, February 10, 2014 through a link on the conference website (see title above).
Presenting authors will be notified by Monday, February 27, 2014.
All presenting authors (of an accepted abstract plus working paper) must register for the conference no later than Tuesday, March 4, 2014.
Special Session Proposals
Participants are strongly encouraged to organize their own special sessions. In this way, a set of papers on a topic can be readily presented in one session. Special session proposals should include: 1) Title of session, 2) Name, organization and email address of the session chair, 3) Statement summarizing the session’s theme, 4) Abstracts for 4-5 papers, and 5) contact information for all the authors. Each abstract should not exceed 1800 characters – about 250 words. Instructions are available on the conference website (see title above)
Presenting authors will be notified by Monday, January 27, 2014.
All presenting authors (of an accepted special session proposal) must register for the conference no later than Tuesday, March 4, 2014. This policy helps to limit the number of cancelled papers and no-shows.
Doctoral Consortium
The conference will be preceded on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, by the ISMS Doctoral Consortium. Further information about the Consortium is available on the conference website. Students attending the doctoral consortium should choose the Emory Dorm for their accommodation.
We look forward to having you join us in Atlanta next June.
Sincerely,
The INFORMS Marketing Science Conference Organizing Committee
- Doug Bowman (co-chair)
- Mike Lewis (co-chair)
- David Schweidel (co-chair)
