International Symposium on Service Science, Leipzig, 24 Sep 2013, General chairs Kyrill Meyer and Michael Thieme; Deadline 14 Jul
Call for Papers
The International Symposium on Services Science (ISSS 2013),
Leipzig, September 24, 2013
Hosted by
- University of Leipzig
- Fraunhofer IAO
- Institute of Applied Informatics (InfAI) e.V.
For the fifth time, the "International Symposium on Services Science (ISSS)" will offer a unique platform for advancing research and discussions in Service Science. We cordially invited researchers and practitioners alike to join our effort to sharpen the multidisciplinary view on services in different fields. The ISSS will be held as a part of the scientific program of the “Leipzig Days of Applied Informatics/Leipziger Tage der Angewandten Informatik” in Leipzig, Germany as a one-day event on the 24th of September, 2013.
In 2013, the ISSS is thematically driven by the observation that there is an emergence of system services providers in complex value chains and service systems. Those can be characterized through their coordinating functions within the system or value chain with the aim to offer complex service solutions. Furthermore, such providers possess exceptional market knowledge, have access to unique strategic resources or expertise, conduct research and are open to new technologies. As a vital part within a service system or value chain they are also a relevant starting point for service innovations.
The organizers invite researchers and practitioners from various connected fields to provide contributions to be included in the conference program. Topics should be in line with one or more of the themes listed below:
- Theory and Empiric Data around system services providers
- Service Engineering for system services providers
- Service Simulation for system services providers
- Innovation and Management for system services providers
- Application, Practices and Use Cases
- Connected Work
Important Dates
- Submission of symposium papers : July 14, 2013
- Final Acceptance : July 26, 2013
- Final submission and registration : August 18, 2013
- Symposium Date : September 24, 2013
CONTRIBUTIONS
ISSS 2013 seeks two types of contributions in English with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 pages:
- Full research papers,
- Industrial experience papers
All Submissions will undergo a peer review process. Papers will be selected based on originality, quality, soundness and relevance. All contributions must be original, not published, accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. Prospective authors are asked to submit an abstract in advance, in order to check if the proposed topic fits within the scope of the symposium. Please refer to the conference site (http://isss.uni-leipig.de) for detailed instructions on how to submit an abstract or paper. You may also submit a full paper without submitting an abstract first. All work must be presented at the symposium.
Publishing of accepted works
All research and industrial papers will be published within a series of the Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) and made publicly available. Selected papers will be invited to create extended versions and submitted to international journals (Electronic Markets Journal, International Journal of Information Systems in the Service Sector (IJISSS), International Journal on Service Science, Management, Engineering and Technology (IJSSMET)).
