As a result of the recent nomination process, it is my pleasure to announce the AMA Academic Council for 2013-2014. The 12-member Academic Council represents the diversity of scholarly interests in marketing. The Council advocates for the academic membership of the AMA and has stewardship of major events in the life of our discipline, including the Summer and Winter Educators Conferences, the AMA/Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium, the Special Interest Groups (SIGs), and numerous thought leadership and developmental events for doctoral students and marketing faculty.

The Council maintains a productive working relationship with the staff at AMA International Headquarters, and the AMA continues to increase their support for initiatives related to the academic division (e.g., increased funding for the AMA/Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium, a new staff person dedicated to enhanced administrative support for conferences, additional social events at conferences, etc.) For 2013-2014, our primary interactions will continue to be with Carol Arnold, Senior Director, Bill Stanton, Councils Manager, and Matt Weingarden, Program Manager.
Best regards,
