Fulbright Specialist Program

Introduction

The Fulbright Specialist Program offers grants to US citizens that focus on the strengthening and development needs of non-US institutions

INVITATION TO APPLY

FOR FULBRIGHT SPECIALIST PROGRAM

OPPORTUNITIES IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Dear Colleagues,

The Fulbright Specialist Program (FSP) seeks highly qualified academics and professionals in the Business Administration field to join its Roster.

Funded by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), the program is designed to provide short-term academic exchange opportunities (of 2 to 6 weeks) to U.S. scholars and professionals in select disciplines. Minimum requirements to apply include:

  • U.S. citizenship at the time of application, a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in the field of application
  • Five years or more of post-doctoral teaching or professional experience.

The Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), a division of the Institute of International Education and a cooperating agency of ECA, administers FSP, building a Roster of U.S. Specialists in a variety of disciplines through a rolling online application process.  Applicants recommended by independent discipline peer review committees and approved by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) remain on the Roster for a period of five years. Specialist roster candidates may then be matched with approved project requests developed by eligible institutions overseas. This may also be an opportunity for specialists to collaborate with existing contacts and further develop institutional linkages.

Grants focus on the strengthening and development needs of non-U.S. institutions and may include teacher training, short-term lecturing, participation in seminars, special conferences or workshops, and collaboration on curriculum planning as well as institutional and/or faculty development.  An example of a current grant opportunity is included below.

Please feel free to forward this message on to interested colleagues in the field of Business Administration or other eligible Fulbright Specialist Program disciplines.

The next deadline to submit applications for merit review will be March 18th, 2013 (see our website for subsequent deadlines). For program details, the online application, and a listing of additional open project opportunities, please visit www.cies.org/specialists. If you are interested in applying to the Fulbright Specialist Roster to be considered for the following project or other opportunities, please email Program Coordinator Aaron Karako at fulspec@iie.org.
