CURRENT ISSUES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF GLOBAL BUSINESS THEORY AND PRACTICE MISSION OF AGBR

The Association for Global Business Research (AGBR) will hold its Inaugural Global Business Conference (GBC) from July 2-4, 2013 in Newark, Delaware, USA in collaboration with the University of Delaware (UD). The mission of AGBR is the sharing and dissemination of the state of the art developments in research related to all aspects of global business among academicians, business practitioners, and public policy makers through its annual Global Business Conference and publications.

CONFERENCE HOST, HIGHLIGHTS, AND VENUE

The Inaugural Conference of AGBR is jointly hosted by the University of Delaware Provost’s Office and Institute for Global Studies, and by the Dean’s Office and the Department of Business Administration at the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, University of Delaware (UD). The University of Delaware is an internationally reputed institution for its research and academic programs. UD offers classes at the doctoral, masters, and undergraduate level as well as through its community outreach programs in a large variety of disciplines. UD student body consists of about 4,000 graduate and 17,000 undergraduate students and its employs more than 1,100 faculty members. The city of Newark, Delaware, USA, the home of UD is strategically located on the east coast of USA. It is within an hour driving distance from two international airports, namely Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) and BWI (Baltimore, Maryland) and within two hours driving distance from four other international airports, namely, JFK (New York), EWR (Newark, New Jersey), Washington Dulles (Virginia), and Regan (Washington DC). The conference program includes many social events and site visits. On July 2nd, 2013 there is a scheduled tour of attractions in the Brandywine Valley in the morning and a Welcome Reception in the evening. The Conference Banquet will be held on July 3rd, 2013 in the evening. A Farewell Dinner will conclude the conference with a Fireworks Show celebrating the Independence Day of your Host Nation on July 4th, 2013.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submission: Competitive papers, w-i-p papers, case studies, & special/panel sessions: Now February 28, 2013
  • Completion of review process: March 15, 2013
  • Registration for the Conference: April 15, 2013
  • Submission of formatted papers/case studies for the proceedings: May 1, 2013 (Your paper will be published in the conference program and proceedings only if at least one co-author registers for the conference)

CO-FOUNDERS AND CONFERENCE CO-CHAIRS

AGBR has been founded by Dr. Ajay Manrai and Dr. Lalita Manrai both of whom are Professors of Marketing at the University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, USA. Dr. Ajay Manrai serves AGBR as the Executive Director and Dr. Lalita Manrai serves AGBR as the Chairperson and Advisor. In addition Dr. Ajay Manrai will also serve AGBR as the Founding President for a term of two years, 2012-14. Dr. Ajay Manrai and Dr. Lalita Manrai will also serve as the co-chairs of the Inaugural Global Business Conference (GBC) of AGBR. They will be responsible for the overall planning, operations and smooth functioning of the conference.
