Purchasing Summer School
Introduction
The 18th Annual International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management Summer School on Advanced Purchasing Research, Salzburg, Austria, 4-9 Jul 2013; Deadline 29 Mar
The 18th Annual IFPSM Summer School on Advanced Purchasing Research will be held in Salzburg, Austria from July 4th through July 9th, 2013. Although the title of the school says, “Purchasing”, students in all areas of Supply Chain Management (purchasing, logistics, operations, etc.) are welcomed at the school.
The summer school is an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to meet their contemporaries from other countries, to start a network of international contacts, to obtain useful feedback on a research paper, and to hear interesting presentations from purchasing faculty and professionals from Europe and the United States. The week in Salzburg is a very rewarding experience for faculty and students.
We hope that you will consider nominating a doctoral student to attend this school. Any Ph.D., postgraduate (or advanced graduate) student of an accredited institute of higher learning can apply. The Institute for Supply Management will provide $2,500 support to one student, which will cover most of the costs. Applicants must be attending a U.S. accredited institute of higher learning.
Applications (see more details link below) should be emailed to the Summer School Secretariat with a copy to Dr. Phillip Carter at CAPS Research. The application must include a copy of your original research paper appropriate for discussion at the summer school, vita, and a brief synopsis of where you are in your program. Also indicate if the paper submitted is part of your dissertation. The Secretariat makes the final admission decisions for the school and CAPS Research administers the ISM scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded based on the quality of your paper and its appropriateness for the summer school.
Deadline for Scholarship Application submission is March 29, 2013
Please call this opportunity to the attention of your doctoral students in Supply Chain Management and encourage them to apply. If you have any questions, please contact Debbie Maciejewski at dmaciejewski@capsresearch.org.
