  1. Target potential new customers, drive them to dELiA*s web or store channels, and entice them to make a first purchase.
  2. Target existing customers and entice them, through various marketing methods, to buy more. [Read more about the Challenge at www.collegiateecho.org.]

Who Benefits? The Challenge, now in its 28th year, is a teaching resource for academic faculty who educate tomorrow’s marketers. It gives visibility to students at the sponsoring company and as a resume builder. dELiA*s benefits from top campaign ideas from student teams who act as agencies, creating marketing plans.

Who Can Participate?

  • advertising / marketing clubs,
  • students working independently as an extracurricular activity,

  • students required to complete the Challenge as part of a course curriculum.

About Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF)

Headquartered in New York City, the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) works to attract, educate, and place college students in direct/interactive marketing careers, thereby expanding and enriching the talent pool of trained, market-ready marketers. Established in 1966 by members of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) who wanted to give something back to the community, DMEF continues to be an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that is supported solely by tax-deductible contributions from individuals and companies. Tax-deductible contributions are the lifeblood of the DMEF; funds raised at the Annual Awards Dinner and throughout the year support a broad range of world-class educational programs and scholarships.

Since its founding, thousands of students have taken advantage of DMEF’s educational programs, entering the field with the competitive edge of being “workplace-ready.” Many have gone on to become today’s marketing leaders, an indication of the Foundation’s success.
