The 37th annual conference of the Marketing Educators’ Association, the premier marketing educators’ association dedicated to advancing the practice and scholarship of marketing education (www.marketingeducators.org), will be held April 18-20, 2013 at The Nines in culturally-rich downtown Portland, Oregon. The emphasis of the 2013 Marketing Educators’ Association Conference will be on topics dealing directly with marketing education—including classroom technology, current marketing trends (e.g. social media, creativity, managing group dynamics)—and will be comprised of both Competitive Papers and Special Sessions. Conference registration includes a one-year subscription to the Journal of Marketing Education, along with the Thursday President’s reception and awards dinner, Friday lunch, and Friday and Saturday breakfasts. MEA participants at the 2012 Conference enjoyed a friendly atmosphere with colleagues from all across the United States and twelve other countries while engaging in discussions about cutting edge advances and future trends in marketing education and pedagogy.

Papers presented at the conference may lead to publication in the Journal of Marketing Education or other similar journals. Join us whether you are submitting a paper or special session proposal or not to share ideas and participate in discussions with colleagues who care about the practice and scholarship of marketing education.

The Nines, located in the heart of Portland’s culturally-rich downtown, combines a contemporary aesthetic with a relevant historical location in the former Meier & Frank department store headquarters, built in 1909. Easy (very easy) access to Portland’s unique and eclectic restaurants, coffeehouses, breweries, (tax-free) shopping, the famous Saturday farmer’s market, beautiful parks and gardens, cultural venues, and museums through the free light rail (in the downtown) MAX system. Beautiful Columbia Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Mt. Hood National Forest, and the Oregon Coast are a short drive away.

Please submit competitive papers to Dr. Gregory S. Black (gblack4@mscd.edu) and special session proposals to Dr. Deborah Brown McCabe (dmmcabe@menlo.edu)

**Papers and proposals should be submitted electronically by December 1, 2012.
