This year we will be holding a Pre-conference Workshop that is ideal for new faculty and doctoral students who are just beginning their academic careers entitled ‘Becoming a More Effective Marketing Educator.’ Co-hosted by Charles Duke Ph.D. and Gary Karns Ph.D. both recipients of the Marketing Educators’ Association Educator of the Year Award, this workshop will cover such topics as mentoring, classroom management and learning assessment. Another benefit of attending* the Marketing Educator’s Association Conference is our amazing Friday Night Networking event. This year the reception and dinner will be held at the Long Beach Museum of Art. The museum’s magnificent oceanfront location offers a garden setting and expansive views set among the modern gallery building and landmark 1912 mansion. The Dave Rawlinson Band with Lenny Price on sax will provide the musical entertainment. This will be a special treat because Lenny has performed with Grammy-winner and renowned jazz guitarist Earl Klugh for over 12 years.

*Conference registration is encouraged but not required for the Friday Night event. For more information see http://www.marketingeducators.org/MEA2012/Friday_Night.htm
