Over the years the Mason Entrepreneurship Research Conference (MERC) has become a great sounding board for shaping early stage research ideas as well as a friendly venue to receive feedback on fully developed papers in a collegial and inclusive format. Our conference is open to researchers interested in the field of entrepreneurship from any discipline. The conference planning committee is seeking a wide-range of conference presentations representing an eclectic mix of research from diverse levels of research analysis, multiple research approaches and multiple disciplines (e.g. business management, education, economics, engineering, finance, marketing, fine arts, health services, history of entrepreneurship, organization theory, performing arts, political science, psychology, public policy, and sociology to name a few). While all abstracts/manuscripts relevant to entrepreneurship are welcome, submissions dealing with the following four topics are particularly encouraged:
· Entrepreneurship and Public Policy
· Entrepreneurship and Business
· Social Entrepreneurship and Non-Profit Management
· Entrepreneurship Education and the Society
· Entrepreneurship in international context
Keynote Speaker: Steve Case, Chair of Startup America Partnership and Founder AOL.

Published Volume
The 2012 MERC conference committee will invite submissions for a fully refereed volume based on papers presented at the 2012 MERC conference. This will not be conference proceedings, rather, it will include complete book chapters built around the central conference theme and grouped together in appropriate categories based on the strands of the conference. The volume will push forward the dialogue on entrepreneurship and make available to a wider audience the leading edge interdisciplinary research on innovation and entrepreneurship in all its forms that have been the hallmark of the MERC conferences since 2004.
