I would like to let you know that the conference for food marketing academics to be held in Philadelphia on June 21 & 22, on the campus of Saint Joseph’s University is now accepting papers and registration on line at www.institutefpm.com .
The Conference is co-sponsored by both the Journal of Food Products Marketing and the Journal of International Food and Agribusiness. Best of class articles will be appear in both Journals (depending on the topics). You will find details of the conference on the web and you can e-mail questions to me jstanton@institutefpm.com. Philadelphia is the first capital city of the US, one of its oldest cities, and home to the Liberty Bell.
The Institute for Food Products Marketing will host a two day academic conference to be a forum for discussion and communication of food marketing research. This will be a peer reviewed academic conference for food marketing articles and student papers. The accepted papers will be published in a Proceedings (with ISBN number) and after the conference, a number of articles, between ten to twelve, that will be selected as "best in class" and will be published in a special issues of the Journal of Food Products Marketing and Journal of International Food and Agribusiness. Additionally, the best student paper will be selected to appear in an issue of the Journal of Food Products Marketing.
The conference fee includes copy of conference proceedings, a welcome cocktail reception, lunch and coffee breaks each day, and a closing dinner at a nearby hotel. Additionally there will be tours of the Food Marketing facilities at Saint Joseph’s University. We will also provide information on tourists’ sites of the "colonial city" of Philadelphia for those who want to come early or stay on after the event.
The Journal of Food Products Marketing and the Journal of International Food and Agribusiness have been published for about twenty years. In that time there have been hundreds of articles published, however because there has been so much academic interest in food marketing, there has been a large number of articles in a publication back log. This conference is a opportunity to have food marketing researchers from around the world have a forum to meet and discuss common issues and areas of interest.
The topics sessions will include:
- Technology/E-Commerce
- Pricing
- Agri-Business/Commodity
- Retailing / Merchandizing
- Health / Nutrition / Organic
- Product Development
- Advertising / Promotion
- Channels / Supply Chain
- Global Issues/Perspective
- Private Label
- Sustainability
If you have ideas for sessions not included, you want to chair a special topic session, or want to be a discussant in any session by all means let me know.
Sincerely,
Dr. John L. Stanton
