Hosts of upcoming AMA/Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortia

The AMA Academic Council is pleased to announce that University of Michigan has been selected to host the 2013 AMA/Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium. The co-chairs of the event will be Aradhna Krishna, Brent McFerran, S. Sriram, David Wooten, and Stephanie Carpenter. Please join us in congratulating the Michigan team for an outstanding proposal that was selected from among a set of four competitors. The consortium continues to play an important role in the life of the discipline, and we thank this team of co-chairs for the investment of time and effort that they are making.

In the meantime, final preparations are in place for the rapidly approaching 2012 AMA/Sheth Doctoral Consortium to be held at University of Washington’s Foster School of Business. Co-chairs Doug MacLachlan, Rob Palmatier, and Richard Yalch have created a high-caliber program centered around the theme, “Think Differently, Make a Difference,” for the 47th annual edition of the consortium, June 13-16, 2012, in the beautiful northwest.

If your marketing department is interested in hosting the consortium in 2014, the call for proposals will be issued by Academic Council in the late Fall 2012, due by Dec. 1, 2012, with the selection announced early in 2013 to all plenty of time for planning.

About the Consortium

For almost 50 years, the American Marketing Association (AMA) Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium has brought together the up-and-coming marketing doctoral student scholars with the world’s most distinguished marketing faculty. Leading business schools are invited to participate in the Doctoral Consortium and are asked to nominate one doctoral student (known as the Consortium Fellow). The four-day consortium offers presentations, workshops and networking events that encourage interaction and dialogue between renowned faculty and Consortium Fellows.
