Important news for all advertising scholars

The American Academy of Advertising is the new owner of the Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising. Starting in 2012 with volume 33, it will be published for us by Routledge Taylor & Francis. Eric Haley, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, will be the interim editor whose first order of work includes publishing the last papers reviewed and accepted by the journal’s long-time co-editors Jim Leigh and Claude Martin, Jr., who created the journal in 1978. Background details on how this important move came about will be in the AAA’s December newsletter.

However, don’t rush to send your manuscripts to Eric just yet. There is still a bit more work to be done to get everything rolling.

Members will be sent more information in the coming weeks and months on the journal’s new updated editorial mission statement, plans for publication & related AAA member benefits, and, eventually, a call for new submissions.

This has been a busy year for AAA, and I hope to see many of you at our March conference in Myrtle Beach.

P.S. – Don’t forget: it’s not too late to join or to renew AAA membership for 2012
