MSI encourages academics to attend our conference on “Marketing Communications in a Digital World” taking place October 4-5 in Berkeley, CA. It is a terrific opportunity to network both with fellow academics and with academically-minded practitioners.
What it’s about
Marketing communication’s task used to be to “target” people, termed “prospects” and “customers,” across “broadcast” media and “touch points” with carefully crafted “messaging.” None of this language seems exactly right today. Technology and culture are disrupting this decades-old pattern of strategy and vocabulary. At this conference we aim to explore what new options are available, what marketing academics are learning, and what pioneering practitioners are doing to address the challenges and opportunities of marketing communication in a digital world.
