The Editor of Young Consumers would like to announce that the journal will now be considering research which focuses on the marketing and consumption practices of preparing for parenthood.

Relevant themes for submission include (but this list is by no means exhaustive) –

 

  • How families and households prepare for children
  • Expectations about children and childhood
  • Images of pregnancy
  • Household economics of having a family
  • Marketing for birth and the new baby
  • Identity and status issues surrounding motherhood

The Editor is also considering proposals for a potential special issue on the area. Interested parties should get in touch directly – B.M.Young@exeter.ac.uk
