Otago Forum 3
University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand
In December this year, the Otago School of Business will host Otago Forum 3. The aim of the Forum is to stimulate business research with a service orientation, especially research involving collaboration across academic disciplines. This year we are inviting twenty leading academics involved the service-dominant logic research field from around the world. This is planned as an extension of the Otago Forums held in 2005 and 2008, which have contributed to the development of the service-dominant logic, evolving from the award-winning conceptual research by US academics Stephen Vargo and Robert Lusch (Journal of Marketing [2004] v.68:1). The best of papers from the past Forums have been published as special issue journals by Marketing Theory 6(3) in 2006 and Industrial Marketing Management 40(2) in 2011.
We are now extending our invitation for this year’s event to up to five current PHD students or recent graduates (in the last five years) whose research involves service-dominant logic themes. The Forum will be held over five days in Dunedin, New Zealand, December 5-9. Applications for these five places are now being considered. We require an abstract of your proposed or completed research (up to 500 words). Selections will be made and advised soon after the end of April. Those selected to participate will be exempted from having to pay a Forum fee but you will need to cover your transport costs, plus accommodation over six nights of approx NZ$1000 (US$ 750). The web site for the 2008 event will give you a good guide as to the structure and academic standing of an Otago Forum:

Those who qualify as current PHD students or early career researchers should submit their abstract electronically in a word file to one of the Otago Forum organisers below before April 30.
