Society for Marketing Advances takes ownership of Marketing Education Review
The Society for Marketing Advances is delighted to announce its new ownership of the Marketing Education Review. Buddy LaForge (University of Louisville) has graciously donated ownership of the journal to SMA.
November 2010 will mark the 20th anniversary of MER, which would not be the case without Buddy LaForge’s leadership. Over the last 20 years, Buddy has given his all in building the journal into the well-known publication for marketing scholars. Established in 1990, Buddy along with Ken Williamson (James Madison University) and Dan Spitzer (Bridgewater College) founded the journal. LaForge served as MER’s founding Editor and has championed the journal ever since.
The Society is excited about this new venture and believes ownership in Marketing Education Review brings additional value for its membership. The purpose of MER is to promote innovative approaches to curricular development, course content and delivery systems, student learning, career development and other issues which are important to to the teaching mission. Teaching methods and innovations are integral aspect of the SMA Annual Conference as both the Sherwin Williams Distinguished Teaching and Cengage Pride-Ferrell Teaching Innovations competitions continue to grow.
The Society appreciates Buddy’s confidence in its leadership to continue MER’s success, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. SMA would also like to thank countless others who have also been involved with the success of MER over the years. For more information on MER, please visit http://www.marketingeducationreview.com.
