The Asia Competitiveness Fourm of The Competitiveness Institute focuses intensively on understanding Asia and Asia’s competitiveness, with explorations into issues and challenges the countries face; increasing productivity for competitiveness during slowdown; innovation and economic development. The conference is organizing a special session for Academics. The submissions are solicited for the Academic Summit in the Asia Competitiveness Forum. You could submit an acadmeic paper (papers from several disciplines both theoretical and empirical are highly encouraged), case studies, presentations et al.

Call for Papers | Academic Panel & Poster Session

Proposed abstracts are invited to address, but not limited to, the core themes running through the track. These include –

  1. The special economic zones
  2. Internationalization of Business
  3. Country Competitiveness and prospects for the future
  4. Tension between Local and National Government
  5. Agglomeration and deglomeration factors for cluster development
  6. Competitiveness of regions
  7. Innovation within Asian enterprises
  8. Innovation and Economic Development
  9. Cross country studies especially with other Asian nations
  10. Integrating Asian businesses with global businesses
  11. State and City level competitivness variations and how buisnesses should look at them

Abstracts of proposed papers should consist of a cover page and an abstract of the proposed paper.

The cover page should contain: Title of the paper, Full name and title (Mr, Mrs, Dr, Professor etc), name of the organization / company, country, job title, a brief CV of not more than 200 words, contact email address and telephone number.

The abstract should contain: Extended abstract detailing the main areas of the paper and presentation proposed and should be no longer than 1000 words. We specially encourage young researchers to submit an abstract.

Deadline dates

  • 31 January, 2010 Submission of abstracts
  • 7 February, 2010 Notification for selected abstracts
  • 7 March, 2010 Final Papers for Publishing
  • 7 April, 2010 Copy of visual presentation material

Proceedings

Selected papers would be published in proceedings of the session. A special issue of Journal of Competitiveness would carry the best 6 papers presented at the conference. You would need to formally register for the conference to have your paper published within the session proceedings and publication in the journal

Best Paper Award

The best papers at the session would receive a special mention and an award would be announced at the conference

Conference Support

The conference registration fee is higly subsidized for academics from Asia wherein they will have to pay a conference registration fee of Euros 200 in place of normal fee of Euro 400.
