Themes and topics

Rapid changes in the global economy present continuing challenges for educators, as well as for business and government leaders. The objective of this conference is to provide a forum for scholars analyzing the strategic challenges faced by firms, governments, institutions, and educators in this developing global arena. We welcome papers and/or cases from scholars focusing on the challenges of prospering in a globally competitive environment, and encourage cross-disciplinary submissions. In addition, manuscripts developed from dissertations are encouraged. The topics include all areas of international business, economics, education, environment, and sustainability, but are not limited to such issues.

Refereed paper submissions

Competitive papers and cases, as well as proposals for symposia, discussion panels or workshops are invited. Submissions are double-blind reviewed, acceptance being based on quality and relevance criteria. A select group of submissions will be considered for publication in the Journal of International Business and Economy. Submissions should be sent via e-mail to Bruce Heiman, the Program Chair, at heiman@sfsu.edu as an attachment in Microsoft Word for Windows format, before or on October 16th, 2009. Awards will be given to the best competitive paper and the best case study. Please contact the program chair, Bruce Heiman, if you have any questions about submission or the deadline.
