8th International Colloquium on Arts, Heritage, Non Profit and Social Marketing

Friday 11th September 2009

Bradford University School of Management, United Kingdom

Theme: New Frontiers in Arts, Heritage, Non Profit and Social Marketing

Seminar Overview

The 8th International Colloquium on Arts, Heritage, Non Profit and Social Marketing provides an opportunity for academics and practitioners to draw on the very latest theoretical and empirical research in non-profit, social and arts marketing. Building on this, and also reflecting the change in location of the Colloquium from London to Bradford, the theme of the 8th International Colloquium is New Frontiers. Arts, Heritage, Non Profit and Social Marketing are all going through a period of growth and change, as new perspectives are emerging and the role of these fields within general marketing research and practice is gaining increasing attention. The Colloquium will provide an opportunity to present, engage with and reflect upon research at the forefront of arts, heritage, non profit and social marketing research. We welcome academic and practitioner submissions in all areas of arts, heritage, non profit and social marketing research. However, we are also interested in papers that reflect the Colloquium theme and address emerging topics such as, but not limited to:

  • co-creation of experience
  • what marketing can learn from arts, heritage, non-profit, and social marketing
  • the aestheticization of everyday life
  • ethical issues
  • innovative methods of enquiry
  • sustainable marketing
  • social entrepreneurship

Papers that address the behaviour of customers of arts, heritage, non profit and social organisations will be invited to submit full papers for consideration for a Special Issue of the Journal of Customer Behaviour. A detailed call for papers will follow in due course.

Paper Submissions

Authors wishing to present a paper at the conference should submit an abstract by Monday 8th June 2009. Authors will be informed of the outcome of their submission by 1st July 2008. Abstracts of all accepted papers will be available to participants at the colloquium.

Abstracts should be 750-1,500 words in length, and written in English. The abstract should include the title of the paper and an overview of the background theoretical/ practical context, objective of paper, methodology (if applicable), main findings/points of discussion and conclusions. The authors name(s) should not be on the abstract itself. A cover sheet including the title of the paper, the author’s names, titles, institutional affiliations and contact details, with the primary contact person designated, should accompany the abstract. Please send your submissions as a Word document to the Colloquium organiser, Gretchen Larsen (G.L.Larsen@bradford.ac.uk). All submissions will be subject to a double-blind peer review process.
